30/12/07 - Chris Price was the final Bonus Ball winner of 2007 (number 11). Hope everybody had an enjoyable Christmas. Not much news to report, the indoor league resumes next Sunday. We have approached three former players to start bowling for us again next season. The Oldbury seniors need new players for 2008 with the possibility of 3 of the 8 person squad being unavailable next season. The A.G.M. is just 11 days away, we still have no captaincy nominations for the following teams: Dudley, Oldbury 'B' and Smethwick 'B'.

16/12/07 - The BONUS BALL numbers are now back online. This weeks winner was Keith Lawlor who wins the weekly prize of £58.00 . Number 36 will be available from the New Year. Please see Sheila Newman if you are interested. We encourage every Broomfield bowler to take part in this fundraiser which raises the sections funds by £2080 each year.

Bill Adams informed us today that he will be unable to bowl next season due to his health. In 2007 Bill became our longest serving bowler by participating in his 44th season for the club. It was a great season to finish on as he captained the Oldbury Seniors team to a league and cup double for the first time in the clubs history. Bill started at the club at the age of 15 as a cricketer. He was the bowls section chairman from 1976 to 1984 - a period which included us joining the Warwick & Worcester then rise up the divisions. He came up with the idea for the Smethwick & District Sunday Morning Bowling League in 1976 and is still the leagues President.

12/12/07 - Photos added to the pre 1970 section. Total photos now available on the Broomfield website = 217.

09/12/07 - Ten more pictures added to the photo section. Updated photo libraries include: Players 1970's, players 1980's, team photos, cup photos and misc photos.

In the committee meeting last Monday it was decided that the subject of the Summit Garage Premier League be an official discussion point at the AGM. It was also warned that if teams do not get nominations for captains then it may be considered to withdraw that team from the league in 2008.

Members will receive details of the AGM in the post shortly. Included will be an opinion survey for next years presentation. Can these be filled in and handed back at the AGM.

01/12/07 - A New section added today in Years Gone By > Merit Winners & Runners Up. Also more additions to the 2006/07 photo section. Senior citizens averages now archived in Team Averages.
