31/05/13 - The West Bromwich cup match scheduled to take place tonight has been conceded by Church Hill. Broomfield now progress to the quarter finals and will take on Hamstead Social 'B'.

30/05/13 - A draw tonight for Broomfield, the first in league competition since 2011. At Portland Road the Dudley team took on Cradley Sports 'B' and tied the game with three winners. Two stand out cards at No.1 and No.8: Joe Wilson and John Hardman both 21-2. Frank Newman the other winning card 21-11. Final score 120-120 and 4 points for Broomfield.

29/05/13 - Finally a win to report as the West Bromwich team made it seven wins from eight. Tonight at Portland Road Broomfield beat Brades Village by 56 shots. Six winning cards: Marc Hadley Jnr 21-3, Mark Hadley Snr 21-5, Malcolm Spencer 21-11, Jake Dancer 21-12, Terry Jones 21-12 and John Hardman 21-12.

28/05/13 - The cup misery continues in 2013 and Broomfield are now without a win in 6 in all competitions. Tonight, despite over 13 hours of continuous rain the Free Press Cup match went ahead against Hadley USC (Telford). At Portland Road four winners for Broomfield in a tight 12 shot victory. Wins for Darren Griffiths 21-10, Jonathan Blakeman 21-17, John Hardman 21-19 and Ollie Newman 21-19. At Telford Broomfield had two winners (Chris Price 21-17 & John Wilson 21-19) but lost by 41 shots. Total scores 198-227, Hadley USC win by 29 shots.

26/05/13 - The William Purcell Pairs were played today and won by Paul Newman and Tonia Hadley who beat Dan Chilton and Jonathan Blakeman 21-18 in the final. Gaps and Tonia reached the final courtesy of a 21-20 win against Joe Wilson and Matt Barnwell. Dan and Blakey reached the final with wins over Mark Hadley Snr & Dave Childs 21-9 and Jim Watkin & Marc Hadley Jnr 21-18. For Gaps and Tonia it was the second time they had won the Club Pairs together having won 15 years ago in 1998 when they beat Nigel Freeman and Jonathan Blakeman in the final on Broomfield.

26/05/13 - Four days to forget rounded off today with both Smethwick teams knocked out of the S.F.Jones Cup in the Preliminary Round. At the Beeches the Smethwick 'A' side lost by 11 shots to the Royal Oak 'A' despite recording five winning cards: Chris Price 21-8, Chris Chilton 21-12, Mick Barnwell 21-15, Keith Lawlor 21-16 and Jonathan Blakeman 21-20. The search for the Smethwick 'B' side winning a cup match will enter a 9th consecutive year following a defeat to the Beeches 'A' on Moor Lane (the third time in four years that Broomfield 'B' have been put on Moor Lane). Broomfield lost the match by 40 shots but did have three winners: Jake Dancer 21-9, Matt Barnwell 21-12 and Jim Watkin 21-20.

25/05/13 - Not a good day for either of the W&W teams with a home defeat for the Alliance side and an 83 shot drubbing for the Premier side. At Portland Road the Alliance side dipped out by 15 shots to the Valley. Five winners for Broomfield in Kevin March 21-6, Jim Watkin 21-9, Jake Dancer 21-10, Mick Haydon 21-14 and Keith Underhill 21-19. For the W&W Premier it was the worst away defeat for 6 seasons, ironically that was also an 83 shot defeat away to Acocks Green. Three winners for Broomfield today at Acocks Green: Chris Chilton 21-10, Keith Lawlor 21-16 and Paul Newman 21-19

24/05/13 - Broomfield had no choice but to concede the quarter final of the Dudley Herald Cup tonight due to a shortage of available players. Broomfield were due to face Dudley Dell.

23/05/13 - The Dudley side also remain top of their Division despite a 58 shot defeat at the Baggeridge tonight. Two winners for Broomfield in Joe Wilson and Denise Killion who both won 21-15.

22/05/13 - Six wins from seven keep the West Bromwich team at the top of Division 1, a spot they have occupied all season. A third away win tonight, this time against Brades Village. Broomfield had five winners at "Allbrights" (now the home of Warley RFC) and won the match by 25 shots. Wins for Malcolm Spencer 21-6, Jake Dancer 21-8, Keith Lawlor 21-12, John Hardman 21-12 and Keith Underhill 21-20. No match for the Oldbury team tonight who have a bye.

21/05/13 - 11 winners for Broomfield tonight in the first round of the W&W Arthur Mitchell ('Bomber') Cup against Great Barr 'B'. A 36 shot win at home with five winning cards: Keith Underhill 21-7, Jonathan Blakeman 21-12, Dave Chilton 21-13, John Wilson 21-15, Denise Killion 21-16. At Great Barr a 34 shot win with all six winners: Chris Price 21-5, Mick Barnwell 21-11, John Hardman 21-18, Joe Wilson 21-19, Mark Hadley Snr 21-19 and Jim Watkin 21-20. A 70 shot win reduced to 54 shots with the handicap.

19/05/13 - A full house at home for the Smethwick 'A' team beating the George by 37 shots. Wins for Mark Hadley Snr 21-9, Chris Chilton 21-15, Jonathan Blakeman 21-16, Joe Wilson 21-16, Jim Watkin 21-16, Keith Lawlor 21-19, Dave Chilton 21-20 and Mick Barnwell 21-20.

18/05/13 - Congratulations to Andy Calvert who went one better this year to win the Roy Freeman Club Championship. Calv was runner up in 2012 to Mark Hadley Snr. 12 members entered the 2013 competition with Calv beating Jonathan Blakeman 21-10 in the final. Calv's route to final saw him beat Jim Watkin 21-15 and Mark Hadley Snr 21-11. Blakey's route to final included wins over Denise Killion 21-9, John Hardman 21-12 and Darren Griffiths 21-12.

04/05/13 - The first round of the Free Press Cup will be played on Tuesday 28th May (7:00pm) vs Hadley USC. This is a 6 home 6 away tie starting at 7:00pm. Hadley United Services Club is located in High Street, Telford, TF1 5PB and is a 45 minute drive from the club (33.6 miles via M54).

02/05/13 - First played second in Dudley division 5 with Broomfield coming out on top to stay in 1st place. Five winners at Portland Road: Joe Wilson 21-10, Frank Newman 21-10, Denise Killion 21-11, Mick Haydon 21-19 and Dave Childs 21-20. Final score 155-133 (+22).

01/05/13 - Five winners for the Oldbury team in a closely fought match against neighbours Mitchells & Butlers. Broomfield two shots down after the first four with wins for Ollie Newman 21-13 and Joe Wilson 21-19. Mitchells winners came in the form of Monty Panesar 21-10 and Andrew Dugmore 21-20. Broomfield dropped a further two shots behind (-4) with single figure cards exchanged - Jonathan Blakeman 21-7 and for the visitors Alan Shingleton 21-5. A strong finish for Broomfield saw the home team win by 16 shots thanks to wins from John Wilson 21-9 and Darren Griffiths 21-13. Broomfield sit 4th in Division 1 with Beeches 'A' (1st) and George 'A' (2nd) the teams to catch.

The West Bromwich side maintained their lead at the top of Division 1 with a 41 shot away win at Coseley Athletic. Five winning cards and only 14 shots dropped away from home. Single figure wins for John Hardman 21-7 and Terry Jones 21-8. Also wins for Keith Lawlor 21-11, Marc Hadley Jnr 21-11 and Jake Dancer 21-13.
